Essays on how language persuades us to earn worth.
Worth in Words Press is where I write essays about how language shapes what we value and who we think we should be.
Across self-help, productivity talk, corporate life, and social media, we’re offered scripts about merit, success, excellence, and belonging. Some of those scripts help people aim higher. Others quietly narrow what counts as a good life, and some even harm.
My work is a form of close reading for everyday culture: I track the phrases, stories, and moral claims that are rhetorical, then ask what they do to our sense of worth.
